What is sampling?

Marketing practice consisting of the distribution of free samples of a product or trial periods of a service to attract new customers. It is usually used in launches to promote the familiarization of potential consumers with the article and obtains a high response rate generating expectation. Its use is very common in consumer products and now also in the technology and leisure industries, which enable websites from where previews or downloadable demos of future releases are offered, as is the case with trailers and sneak peeks of movies and series or exclusive advances in comics and literature.

Sampling marketing also has a strategic component since it allows monitoring results and market reactions to news or future modifications.
